IceMap is a consortium drawing on a wide range of ice-understanding and satellite remote sensing experience.
IceMap combines the skills and experience from Polar Imaging Limited and eOsphere Limited (formally Vexcel UK).
Polar Imaging provides expert consultancy on a wide range of issues concerning ice and remote sensing. Managing Director Kim Partington has over 24 years of polar earth observation experience, previously Chief Scientist at the US National Ice Center and Manager of NASA’s Polar Research Program.
eOsphere, formerly Vexcel UK, was established in 2001 and supports complete systems; ranging from ground station technology and data links, to World leading expertise in satellite image analysis. Activities include the development and provision of near real time SAR-derived sea ice products to national ice services.
eOsphere has carried out historical studies of sea ice conditions to provide evidence in cases of litigation and to provide the basis for seasonal outlooks of ice conditions, where the past is assumed to provide a guide to the future.
Jeff Andrews is an ice analyst and forecaster. Jeff is highly experienced in this field and was formally the chief ice analyst at the US National Ice Center.
